"Poker is a game of people played with cards"
Poker is an excellent model of life. This is why it also applies to the seduction and male-female relationships. It's a game of making short-medium-long term mistakes with incomplete information where whoever makes the best decisions wins ... more.
Poker teaches us that often we are allowed to make mistakes from short term to have a higher return over the long term. We also need to evaluate possible scenarios where we need to see the entire context of a hand and not only if it is profitable.
I'll never forget when I was defining the bubble of a pretty big tournament. I was in the big blind and still not see my cards. A very tight lady with double my chips was in middle position raised the bet 3xbigblind. Another villain 3bets. He covered me and a guy on the button, with fewer chips than I flat called. In this situation and in thebig blind I check my two cards to see KK.Most likely it was the best hand preflop, but considering the tight lady, the villain's 3bet allin and the shortstack, surely someone was removed and I would be left in the Money.
Then, analyzing the situation we need to look at the visions of short, medium and long term. It is important to answer questions like:
- What is more important to play this hand knowing that it is highly likely that no one has AA, running the risk that someone is lucky enough to creack my cowboys?
- Or is it more important to survive and remain in the Money?
- What is the potential to sustain the KK against 2 or 3 more in an all-in preflop?
- How much can I can earn?
- Is it mega chip leader?
- How well I can do it if I win and I am Chip Leader?
- What would be throwing the tournament rivals?
And I can think of dozens of more questions for this situation. The truth is that the answer whether or not the cowboys fold is irrelevant to the point I want to display. The important thing is how the poker teaches you to think of different scenarios weighing not only of the particular situation of the hand, but the whole context of the tournament, and even your life! All this in a minute.
The application to seduction is obvious. When you're ready to handle most situations, answer you further questions, learn about different scenarios and react correctly get better results. That is, make fewer mistakes. In the eyes of your girl this translates as "what a flowing conversation ."
A typical example is a possible phone call to the girl you met last night at the discotheque. An "amateur" thinking less scenarios than the expert. Not only that, but also, once in either scenario, you would know how to handle worse.
The decision tree should go like this:
Will she answer the phone?
· If she answers:
- What does she remember of me?
- Do I want to show high energy or low?
- Will she be in high energy or low?
- What do I want to accomplish in this conversation?A date? Remembrance ¿?
- ETC!
If there is no answer:
- Do I leave a message? What do I say?
- Should I hang before leaving the voicemail?
- Should I call again tomorrow? A week from now?
- ETC!
